The Centre for Research and Studies in Sociology (CIES-Iscte), within the scope of the Iscte – Knowledge and Innovation Association, hereby opens a call for applications for one (1) Research Grant for a Doctoral Student under the project KWI_SIRUK – Knowing, welcoming, including: socio-educational inclusion of children and young people who are refugees from Ukraine, project no. 2023.17383.ICDT, whose funding has been approved by FCT, I.P., under the following conditions:

ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS
Applicants must hold a Master’s degree in Sociology or Social Psychology and be enrolled in a doctoral programme in one of these areas (in accordance with Article 6 of the FCT Research Grant Regulations, Regulation no. 950/2019).

PREFERENTIAL FACTORS
a) Proven experience in the use of SPSS software;
b) Proven experience in data analysis and the writing of statistical reports;
c) Experience in supervising and administering questionnaire surveys;
d) Proven experience in the use of MAXQDA software;
e) Experience in conducting interviews and ethnographic fieldwork;
f) Experience in the administrative management of research projects and project social media;
g) Interest in undertaking doctoral studies and/or research work in the thematic area of the project;
h) Proficiency in Portuguese and English.

DURATION OF THE GRANT
The grant will have a duration of six (6) months, with an expected start date in March 2026. It may be renewed up to the maximum limit of the approved funding or the maximum duration allowed for this type of grant (whichever occurs first), and may under no circumstances exceed the limits established in nos. 3 and 6 of Article 7 of Regulation no. 950/2019 of 29 November, published in Diário da República, no. 241, 2nd Series, of 16 December.

SUBMISSION
The call is open from 6 to 19 February 2026, and only applications submitted within this period will be considered.

Applications must be submitted exclusively through the Iscte recruitment portal (https://recrutamento.conhecimentoinovacao.iscte-iul.pt/jobs/24) and must include the following documents:
i. Detailed Curriculum Vitae;
ii. Copy of degree certificates for the Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees, including transcripts;
iii. Proof of enrolment in a doctoral programme, or alternatively a sworn statement confirming that this document will be provided by the date of contract signature;
iv. Other relevant supporting documents, including letters of recommendation, certificates of participation in qualitative or quantitative analysis training courses (SPSS, MAXQDA), research and/or intervention projects, internships, Master’s thesis, completed works or publications, etc.;
v.Proof of proficiency in Portuguese if Portuguese is not the applicant’s first language / proof of proficiency in English if English is not the applicant’s first language, or alternatively a sworn statement by the applicant.
