Between 6 and 11 July 2026, CIES-Iscte will host the 30th Annual Meeting of the International Society for the History of the Neurosciences (ISHN).
This international meeting brings together researchers and experts from various countries to reflect on the history of the neurosciences from multiple perspectives: from the history of ideas to material, social and cultural history. The programme highlights the dialogues, tensions, continuities and ruptures within the field, emphasising the richness of the interdisciplinary perspectives that arise from the intersection of the social sciences, history and clinical practice. Throughout the sessions, the papers will explore different geographical and chronological contexts, critically examining narratives centred on both doctors and patients.
