The European project H:OUSE -Housing: to Overcome Unstable Situation in Europe aims to affirm the right to housing as an essential step towards effectively integrating people needing international protection into host communities. Recognizing the success of community and participatory approaches to accessing housing, the project explores successful experiences of community sponsorship at the international, European, and local levels to identify and systematize effective practices.

Based on these experiences, the project is committed to developing an intervention model that involves a wide range of public and private sponsors, including representatives of diaspora communities, who are considered solid bridges between newcomers and host countries. This model will seek not only to support migrants but also to create economic and social benefits for host communities.

Implemented in five countries (Italy, Greece, Hungary, Ireland and Slovenia), H:OUSE aims to create a network of direct support for the final beneficiaries, underpinned by a solid and connected structure at the EU level.

The project aspires to influence housing policies and promote a paradigm shift, strengthening the inclusion and well-being of communities.
