New Publication Explores the Current State of Popular Associations in Portugal
New Publication

A new publication explores the reality of the Popular Associative Movement in Portugal. It is based on a large-scale national survey conducted in collaboration with the Observatory of Popular Associativism (OBAP) and the Portuguese Observatory on Cultural Activities (OPAC). This initiative, guided by the Portuguese Confederation of Culture, Recreation, and Sports Collectivities, involved over a thousand associations, clubs, and organizations contributing to the study.

Providing a scientifically grounded and comprehensive overview of Portuguese associativism, this publication goes beyond mere statistical analysis. A team of researchers examined the data from various perspectives, presenting their findings in nine chapters that address the challenges, contributions, and evolution of the associative movement in the current context.

The publication emphasizes the critical role of associativism as a cornerstone of society, offering valuable insights into its impact on Portugal’s cultural and social landscape.
