Assis
is
an
Assistant
Professor
in
the
Department
of
Social
Research
Methods
at
Iscte
–
University
Institute
of
Lisbon,
and
a
Research
Fellow
at
the
Centre
for
Research
and
Studies
in
Sociology
(CIES-Iscte).
He
currently
serves
on
the
Pedagogical
Council
of
Iscte
and
the
Pedagogical
Committee
of
the
School
of
Sociology
and
Public
Policy
(ESPP).
In
addition,
he
is
an
alternate
member
of
the
Ethics
Council
of
the
Portuguese
Sociological
Association
(APS).Since
2008,
he
has
coordinated
and
participated
in
national
and
international
research
projects,
developed
in
collaboration
with
institutions
in
various
countries,
including
Portugal,
Brazil,
and
the
United
States.
His
academic
and
scientific
work
has
focused
on
sociological
research
into
the
objective
and
subjective
impacts
of
social
inequalities,
labour
precarity,
everyday
life
in
urban
peripheries,
and
youth
sociability
dynamics
in
contexts
of
social
vulnerability.His

interests
include
the

of
social
