Denise Henriques has a doctorate and master's degree in Public Policy, from ISCTE-IUL, and a degree in Social and Cultural Communication, from the Universidade Católica Portuguesa. She is a specialist in Country, Region and City Brands and Policies, relating these Place Brands with Companies and the Global, Digital and Sustainable Socioeconomic Development.  She is a Researcher at ICNOVA/Universidade Nova de Lisboa and CIES-IUL/ISCTE-IUL, dedicating herself to teaching, research and scientific consultancy, projects (coordination), articles publication and scientific edition/review in scientific and specialized journals, and she is also a regular speaker at internacional conferences. She is the author of the book Marca Portugal: Políticas e Atores, adapted from her doctoral thesis, and published by ISCTE-IUL, with the support of IAPMEI- Agency for Competitiveness and Innovation of Portugal.
